AVG Antivirus Free is a tool for free protection against viruses and spyware, easy to use and upgradeable. Developed on the basis of the professional version, provides a high level of protection and use resources in a limited way so as not burdening the system.
The interface is completely renovated, is divided into sectors, each of which handles a specific function: manual scanning, planning, protection, monitoring e-mail updates and reports.
AVG 9 includes an automatic database update service to keep up to date list of viruses. Function AVG Resident Shield protects the system in real time while opening a file or start a program.
The new version 9 introduces a simplified installation process, it is slim, takes up little RAM than previous versions and greatly reduces the consumption of resources including the CPU.
Optimized for the new Windows 7, AVG free antivirus 9 continues to provide protection for previous systems and for Office 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007.

Since the launch of Windows, AVG Anti-Virus 9 shows reassuring and watchful with an icon on the status bar. Updates are daily and are installed automatically when you start your computer. If it is a long time since I access the Internet and the program is not updated, the status bar icon turns gray and an exclamation mark that draws your attention.

AVG Anti-Virus 9 includes a shield against viruses in real-time input and a system for scanning e-mail (a little ’slow, actually). You can choose to schedule the scan of your PC with the frequency and time and you can select whether you want to analyze the entire system or only part of it.
Notes : AVG Anti-Virus 9 can be installed on Windows 2000 only in the presence of Service Pack 4.
